I had a very nice time in Paris earlier this month, despite the persistant rain. It was probably not as exciting as my trip to Paris last March, but this was a good thing. Being plastered to the wall in a metro station while hundreds of student protesters marched is the kind of thing best not repeated. Those phone calls home were memorable though. ("No mom, we got away before things got bad. But I got a great photo of the police all decked out in riot gear!")

The painting is absolutely incredible! I have spent time working in neonatal intensive care, and in a birth unit, so I have a special fondness for art depicting the beginning of life.
